Power-to-weight ratio

A good chain saw needs to be as light and easy to handle as possible, while offering plenty of power to maximise cutting performance. The ratio between engine output, measured in kW, and engine weight, measured in kg, is therefore an important yardstick of comparison when choosing the right chain saw for the job. DOLMAR chain saws use modern lightweight materials and precision construction techniques to achieve some of the best power-to-weight figures in the industry. The DOLMAR PS- 7900, for example, generates 4.6 kW of power from an engine weighing only 6.3 kg which gives it a power-to-weight ratio of just 1.37 kg/kW.
